Photographing nudes and implied nudes

Just a quick update on my progress regarding creating a space for nude photography, and also full disclosure about my process. In my quest to find models that are enthusiastic about posing nude for me, I’ve started to post on most social media. I am also considering attending several of the local “strip joints” to find models. I just need a start. I need someone, or several someones to help me fine tune my objective. I absolutely believe that you can do whatever you set your mind to. Regardless of the current political realty, it seems to me that people are becoming more and more liberated and immune from the once taboo consequences of artistic expression.

I want to touch on the model’s experience, and I want to address some of the fears that models might have. What I intend to do with my photography is 100% strictly anonymous or implied anonymous. That means that if your best friend saw one of my photos, they would not know the photograph was of you, unless you’re completely open. Tattoos are their own problem, and hiding one’s identity when one of the photos has a significant and unique tattoo, well, that’s the thrill and risk of this kind of photographic art.

What I want to do is real work. It’s not easy. For the models I’ve photographed in the past, it’s quite a workout. Holding awkward poses for several minutes isn’t easy. There are some wonderful photographers in Boise that shoot boudoir photography. They offer “an experience.” That means makeup and hair and pampering and all of that. That’s not what I do. I do fine art nudes, not the boudoir photoshoot experience. I want to make art that can stand the test of time. Art that says “that’s who we are” and not “that’s who she is.” It’s hard to explain, I guess. I’m going to be 60 next year, and it is so clear to me that life is short, and that it’s a wonderful thing to be able to capture time in a photograph. I photograph concerts regularly, and I’m able to capture images that help remind us of how unique we are as humans, and how expressive and wondrous we all are. It seems to me that we need each other for the nourishment that is social expression, and I want to photograph its most intimate, personal, and expressive moments.

I’m not the writer I used to be, but I’m a pretty good photographer. I want to photograph you in the nude, implied nude, or fashion nude. I have the space, the equipment, the experience, and the knowledge. For 2025, I’m strictly doing bodyscapes. Terry@BadBoy.Photography
